After working with stone in her designs for many years, Athena Calderone wanted to play with the translucency of alabaster. Her Onirique sconce makes use of thin sheets of alabaster, which allow light to shine through while conserving the precious material. The shade showcases the stone's natural beauty and unique markings on its two planes—features that are enhanced to a gorgeous glowing effect when illuminated. A warm white diffuser affixed with two black finials further softens the cast light.
