This collection is crafted from sustainably harvested solid teak wood, selected for its natural beauty and durability. Artisan-crafted teak finishes are hand-applied using a wire brush to subtly distress the wood followed by staining the pigment onto the surface and then sealed for added protection. Small imperfections may expose underlying teak wood. If left uncovered, finishes will gradually fade and acquire a beautiful silvery-grey patina (typical of untreated teak wood), adding unique character to your piece. Teak hardwood contains natural oils that repel insects, prevent drying, and resist moisture. Teak is also resistant to fungal decay, rotting, and warping due to temperature or humidity. Engineered to withstand the elements, Anami’s cushions are crafted with open-cell, quick-dry foam wrapped in recycled poly fibers, with mesh bottom panels for efficient drainage and air circulation.
